Professional Training Opportunities

These national programs are offered to teachers and other educators for little or no cost. Books of activities linked to all grade levels, all disciplines, and hundreds of topics are given to participants who complete the training (usually 6 hours). Most activities are correlated to state standards and give teachers numerous ways to integrate the naturalist intelligence into lesson plans.

Project Learning Tree

PLT uses the forest as a "window" on the world to increase students' understanding of our environment; stimulate students' critical and creative thinking; develop students' ability to make informed decisions on environmental issues; and instill in students the commitment to take responsible action on behalf of the environment.
